libalt-base-perl software package provides base class for alternate modules, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libalt-base-perl
libalt-base-perl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libalt-base-perl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libalt-base-perl *
You will get with libalt-base-perl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
